| So, what about sharpening? Most competitors use soft steel blades that require frequent sharpening. Those blades can only be sharpened so many times before they need to be replaced. There are sharpening shops in most major centres and the cost of sharpening our competitors' blades should be taken into account when calculating the total cost of ownership. Our flame hardened blades are very durable and are estimated to be about 20 times harder than normal blades. Combined with the non-contact cutting system these blades will last the useful life of the mower. (Sunlawn & Brill Mowers) The life expectancy of our mowers is around 10 years of normal use. (batteries excluded) By the time the blades would need sharpening other components of the mower will probably need replacing. If you used one of our mowers and it cost you perhaps $250.00 then your cost of ownership for one of our mowers would be about $25.00 per year. That is less than most sharpening shops charge for a single sharpening. Warranty Warranties are for private use for a period of 1 or 2 years from the date of purchase (varies by brand and device). Warranties apply to all serious defects of the product which can be proven to have been caused by faulty materials or workmanship. The manufacturers have the option of supplying a replacement of the product in working order or repairing the product free of charge at their facilities, provided that the device has been handled correctly in accordance with the instructions in the Owner’s Manual and that neither the buyer nor a third party has attempted to repair the product. Claims should be made through the process described in the Owners Manuals. We will be happy to help if you have any questions. Returned Goods. If you need to return a product for credit it must be in new condition with all original packaging and a copy of the original invoice. You must email us to receive a Return Merchandise Authorization or the return goods will not be accepted. We will credit you your purchase price less a handling fee of $10.00 or more (depends on condition of returned goods). Cancelled Orders. Cancelled orders will be credited in full, provided they have not been shipped. Otherwise you will be charged the shipping costs and a handling charge of $20.00 to cover the warehouse fees. (boxes must not be opened) These mowers are designed for use on residential lawns. They are not designed for commercial use or for use in public facilities, parks, sporting grounds, roads, or in agriculture or forestry areas. These mowers are for cutting lawns only. They must not be used to trim hedges, bushes or shrubs, for cutting or pruning, or for any mowing where both wheels and the roller are not fully supporting the mower. We offer no guarantees of suitability for your intended use other than the promise that the device will operate as presented in the Owners Manual. These mowers are intended to cut well maintained lawns and are not designed to cut rough terrain, overgrown areas or areas containing weeds, rubble, debris or loose objects. | Here is a photo of a corner of our back yard. In the foreground is the freshly cut lawn and the background shows the uncut area. The lawn looks good- not perfect but certainly as good as with any other type of mower. And that is the point. We didn't have to go over the lawn twice or make any special attempt to make this photo. In fact, this is a grab-shot, taken because the light looked so nice and the blossoms were still on the plum tree. The manual push mower is so quiet that you can hear the birds singing while you mow. This really does make mowing a pleasure- it is quiet, safe and non-polluting. |
